Annual Outstanding Suppliers Awarded by Bechtel

Bechtel announced recipients of the 2020/2021 Global Supplier Awards on 20th Oct, 2021, fifty-five companies from seven countries that have supported Bechtel’s execution of key projects across the energy, infrastructure, nuclear, security, environmental, mining & metals, equipment, technology, and logistics markets. As one of Bechtel’s steel structures suppliers, United Steel Structures Ltd (USSL) was listed. It is also the only one supplier from China.

 

Bechtel was founded in 1898 with long history and extraordinary prestige. Up to now, it has completed more than 25,000 projects in more than 160 countries on all seven continents, and has been awarded as a top contractor by the U.S.Engineering News Record for 20 consecutive years.

 

As a leading Engineering and Construction corporation in global market, Bechtel has a large number of qualified suppliers around the world while USSL is one of its steel structure suppliers in China. The reason why USSL is ableto stand out among these first-class suppliers lies in USSL’s good reputation based on high quality and punctual delivery during long-term cooperation with Bechtel and also in USSL’s comprehensive strength in steel structure fabrication.

Bechtel has always been committed to building and maintaining amicable and stable relationship with its global suppliers and subcontractors, and annually organizes Supply Chain Recognition awards ceremony for global Supplier Award recipients which are regarded as their most trustful and reliable suppliers. Companies were evaluated on multiple factors including overall performance, ability to deliver quality services/supplies on time, ability to work collaboratively to meet milestones, and meeting or exceeding project expectations in aspects of safety, performance, technical expertise, and environmental compliance.

 

USSL became qualified supplier of Bechtel in 1998, in which year USSL was awarded of the first project with fabrication weight nearly 10,000 tons. Since then, USSL successively undertook 17 projects with total weight of approx.200,000 metric tons from Bechtel, including Milmerran Power Plant Project, Trimble County - Unit 2 Power Project, Motiva Crude Expansion Project, Elm Road Generating Station Project, Kitimat Smelter Modernization Project, Fjardaal Smelter Project, Rio Tinto Aluminum Yarwun Stage 2 Project, Sohar Aluminium Smelter Project and Quebrada Blanca Fase 2 Project, etc.

 

 

 

In June of this year, USSL achieved successful delivery for Quebrada Blanca Phase 2 Project after overcoming difficulties coming from long fabrication period, tight schedule, various types and quantity of structures, strict welding requirement and serious COVID-19 impact, etc. The superior quality and punctual delivery was highly recognized by Bechtel, which laid solid foundation for USSL’s honor in this year.
